Red, White & Blues

While we certainly appreciate the red and the white … it’s the BLUES in this farm’s name that especially appealed to us. Blues as in blueberries! So many wonderfully delicious blueberries!

Each month while Daddy is away, we mark the end of another month with a simple outings or surprise. The kids look forward to the end of each month because it means a little something special and especially because we’re one month closer to Daddy coming home! Thanks to social distancing … the monthly “surprises” have been rather strategic. But we found the perfect fit for April’s outing at Red, White & Blues Farm! It was a gloriously (don’t think I’ve ever actually used that word) beautiful day! Sunny … but breezy and cool. And our first visit to this beautiful farm did not disappoint! The blueberries were endless … literally … endless!! We ate while we picked and still managed to fill our buckets! We even picked sunflowers and despite the fact that we were all truly full from sampling blueberries all morning, we couldn’t pass up the farm fresh blueberry milkshakes and donuts!!! We were all disappointed to realize that we had accidentally left Daddy Bear at home :( We’re so used to being home bound and hadn’t gone out anywhere in ages! So we got out of practice and poor Daddy Bear missed this trip. But we were sure to save him some “blues” and we’ll do a better job next time as we’ll certainly be back to this farm … and next time we’ll take the “real” Daddy with us!!
