Emily's Little Giant Friend!

Look at what we found in the yard last week!!!! It's the biggest caterpillar that we've ever seen! In doing some research, we learned that it will turn into a Regal Moth.  And the caterpillar stage is nicknamed a "hickory horned devil". Despite the daunting name, elaborate spikes and spines and intense colors ... they are very gentle and Emily was eager to hold him, Anabelle wasn't quite so sure and Brandon played it cool. We let our friend go in a safe place and perhaps we'll be lucky enough to see him again - as a moth!
