A Day For Baby Connor
Last week, we spent a special day together as a family remembering baby Connor. I figure this is one of the best ways we can honor him ... doing something to create memories as a family. The girls decided that they wanted to buy some plants and decorate their pots with special pictures for Connor. Anabelle wants to plant him a flower garden and according to her, "it has to be outside so that he can see it from heaven." They were really proud of their art and have been helping to water the plants. Once his memory tree is big enough, we'll choose a special spot for it and we'll surround it with the girl's flowers and pots :)
Like last year, the girls also decorated and wrote messages on balloons. They sent their balloons "up to baby Connor" and even Brandon participated!
Finally, we took a late afternoon trip to the beach. One of the girl's favorite places is the beach and no doubt baby Connor would have enjoyed watching his big sisters run and splash in the surf. A storm was rolling in and the contrast of light and dark was pretty neat. Little Brandon also really enjoyed kicking in the waves and playing in the sand.
Despite us wishing that baby Connor was here with us to enjoy the day ... it was a good day. We miss you Connor!
