Double Digits!?!?!

How can it be? Anabelle has officially hit double digits and she celebrated by enjoying some of her favorite things! To start the day off, she opted for cookies and ice cream as a birthday breakfast! Who can blame her - yum!!

We had planned on a day at the lake but after opening her presents, she decided that staying home to construct her new legos and paint on her new canvas’s and eisel was preferable. And to make the day even a bit more special - her monarch butterflies that she had raised up from teeny, tiny eggs emerged from their chrysalis!! (What’s the plural of “chrysalis” anyway??) Regardless, she enjoyed her very own birthday butterfly release! Kinda special!

Anabelle requested cake pops instead of cake (She doesn’t like all the excess frosting on cakes, she explained.) No problem! Cake pops it is! However, she specifically requested RoadRunner (her one-eared, limping cat) cakepops. Despite my very best efforts, I found that making one-eared, cat-themed cake pops is not my forte. Truthfully, the cake pops were an epic mom fail and while I tried my best - I ultimately had to admit defeat. Anabelle, being the mature, now 10 year old that she is, graciously accepted my ridiculous looking treats and said that they were very yummy, even if they left a bit to be desired aesthetically. (Ok - you may laugh and my feeling won’t be hurt.)

We finished the day with a birthday meal of Anabelle’s choice - pizza, of course! And then we enjoyed an afternoon at the lake the next day :) Happy 10th birthday Miss Anabelle!! You are so much fun, phenomenally fashionable and you work so hard!
