Santa Is Definitely Coming To Town! But First ...
With Christmas just 2 days away (!?!?!), here is a whirlwind photo tour of what we’ve been up to over the past few months!!
In typical Covid-style, we celebrated Halloween by staying home. Boring, you ask?? Disappointing, you might assume?? Well …. who needs trick-or-treating when you can have a HOUSE PARTY!!!!! Yep, we had our very own Halloween party, themed games (complete with a skeleton bone hunt, of course), full costumes with a short walk for an “over the gate” visit with Miss Britan and a candy bag hunt to complete the day! Naturally, pumpkins were carved (with power tools, of course). And as if that wasn’t enough, a little tent camping under the full moon seemed quite appropriate. So “boo to you” ugly Covid!! We won and we had fun despite you!
In addition to costumes and candy, we’ve managed to get the boat out a few times over the past few months, we enjoyed one very chilly, rainy day at the beach. And one super foggy day at the beach! We voted - some for the president and others for cookie flavors at school :). Brandon spent his well earned “deployment pay” on something quite grande, and we’ve gone exploring on numerous occasions with hikes around the area.
In November, we took our pet turkeys to school and made fun treats. We watched movies outdoors - around Daddy’s newly built fire pit - all snug as a bug with blankets and hammocks. We enjoyed some pretty sun rises and took a few day trips to our happy place - Kingsley Lake.
And finally, in preparation for Santa’s big day, we got our biggest Christmas tree yet, tried new festive hairstyles, enjoyed more tasty treats and participated in socially distanced school events. We tried new cocktails :) and received special, custom-made ornaments. We spent time with special friends and even saw the Christmas Star.
And so, on this Christmas Eve Eve Day, with still LOTS to do before the big day, I leave you with these final photos and sentiments …
“Goodbye 2020! While our past few months have been pretty “ok”, we will gladly put some of the lovely challenges and “unique circumstances” that you provided behind us!”
“And hello 2021 and all you (hopefully) have to offer!” But first, Christmas!!!! Cuz while Santa is definitely coming to town, she (I mean he!) still has SO much to do! Eek!
