This past week, we stepped out of our comfort zone and took a little road trip … with a mission to find that cold, fluffy, white (sometimes gross, slushy and dirty) stuff that is quite foreign to us as Floridians. And boy-oh-boy did we suceed in our mission!! The kiddos did amazing on the 8 hour drive to Asheville … where we spent 1 night and then loaded up again to reach the higher elevation of Beech Mountain. And it was here that we hit the jackpot! Between sledding for hours on end, making snowmen, tubing, snow ball fights and even ice skating … we crammed just about all of the usual snowy activities into a busy 48 hours! Next time, I think we’ll try skiing! After enjoying our time in the snow, we met up with G & G Mac, Cousin Lily and Uncle Brian & Aunt Meghan on Black Mountain … where we spent another fun couple of days! It’s always a bummer to head back home after vacation … and the snow was nice … for a few days … but home is definitely where palm trees grow and flip flops flap.
