Ticker Too

Last week we said a somewhat unexpected goodbye to one of our most special fury family members. Granted, Ticker was almost 16 years old and so we knew that her time with us would come to end. However, she was perhaps the happiest old dog that we've ever known ... and so we were somewhat caught off guard when her health started to decline quite rapidly. From the moment we found her wandering alone as a tiny puppy in the Ocala National Forest ... to the day before we said goodbye ... Ticker was always happy, easy going and always had a pep in her step. She was a friend to everyone she met (Except for that cardinal that she accidentally swallowed whole many, many years ago. And except for the full grown deer that she and Elsa chased back in her much younger days.) But Ticker never complained about the hundreds of animals who came to intrude upon her space over the years. She was always so patient with the kids and she never asked for much - just appreciated a little time to herself away from the chaos from time to time - something we came to call her "Ticker time".  Elsa Mae and Ticker Too are surely reunited again but her presence with the family will surely be missed. Rest easy sweet, old girl. Your family misses you.
