Saying goodbye is sad ...

Today, the girls said goodbye to a special friend. Kennedy absolutely adored the kids, she slept with the girls every night and was fiercely protective of them. She didn't even like when we played chase as the kids would squeal and shriek ... and Kennedy would get between us and the kids to make it stop. Kennedy loved "her" kids with all her heart ... and so it was nice that they were able to shower her with love and to sit with her while she fell asleep one last time. The girls made her special cards and helped to choose her spot for burial - near their playground - so that Kennedy can still watch over them ❤️ Saying goodbye is sad, but I'm so proud that our kids know when and how to say goodbye when the time is right.
