Christmas In October?!?!
Did we celebrate Christmas early this year? Not really - but based on all of the excitement last month - one could have easily thought that Santa came early to our house! You only get to be a kid once, right? I find myself saying that in my head quite frequently as it's no secret that our kiddos have it "made in the shade" (and then some!). They live a good life ... with many luxuries and privileges and while they may be too young to truly understand how fortunate they are ... they do seem to genuinely appreciate and enjoy being a child.
Along these lines, we had a pretty exciting couple of weeks last month! It's been a year since our trusty River passed away and I may have recently gotten a notion that our family needed another equine. (And those who know me well, know that my "notions" generally becoming reality quite quickly.) I decided that the girls needed a pony ... and yeah, ok, maybe Mommy needed a pony too. But it was mainly for the girls!
And long story short, why just get one pony ... when one may get two?? Yep, we recently brought "Red" (or Red Breeze, as the girls call him) and "Whiskey" home to live with us! The girls love riding Red around the pasture as he has such outstanding manners with a saddle on! (And yes, even Mommy rides him. I'm such a nerd but it's so much fun!). Red and Whiskey are inseparable ... and Ted, well Ted isn't as impressed with them as I had hoped ... but they all seem to tolerate eachother.
A few days after the girls got their ponies ... they also went to Disney World for the first time!!! What?!?! It was a special opportunity for the girls to see cousin Lily and we just couldn't pass up the chance
Now how the heck will we ever top this "series of fortunate events"?? Not sure that we will ... but what a fun couple of weeks they had! And with Christmas literally right around the corner ... it seems as though the excitement shall continue for a bit longer! Yikes! And so once again, "You only get to be a kid once ..."
