Happy July 4th!

While I don’t want to rush a thing, I’m also looking forward to the day when Anabelle is old enough to really enjoy all of the local, outdoor, water festivities on days like today! It was a gorgeous day and had Mark been home, the 3 of us most likely would have gone canoeing, found a clear spring to swim in or headed to the beach with some dogs in tow. Instead, of a lazy afternoon by the river … Anabelle and I settled for her pink kiddie pool and spent some time playing on the porch Which wasn’t such a bad compromise, I suppose.  I tossed around the idea of grilling a burger or two (as the smell of cook-outs was in the air!!) … but I figured it wouldn’t be much fun for Anabelle to gnaw on a big juicy burger with only 2 teeth.  So she opted for some peas, carrots and baby food. We’ll save the big juicy burger and fireworks for next year.  We did Skype with Daddy today and he got to see Anabelle cruise all over her room. He’s doing well and we’re in the home stretch as he should be back home by the end of August!! Happy 4th!
