It’s hard to believe that Miss Emily could infact make her debut in as few as 7 weeks!!! Seven weeks from now, Emily will be 37 weeks along which is considered full term; despite the fact that the average pregnancy lasts 42 weeks. Granted, she could even decide to arrive a bit late … but if she follows her big sisters lead, we may infact be bringing Emily home a few weeks early and the thought of all this is both very exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. There is still SO much to be done (ideally before Emily arrives … although when I look at my “to-do” list … most of the tasks truly have nothing to do with Emily … so I’m not quite sure why these things must be done before her arrival??). Regardless of what gets accomplished between now and then, we’re eager to meet her and can’t wait to see Anabelle’s reaction to her tiny, baby sister.

Anabelle has recently started to become quite “motherly” to her stuffed animals and baby dolls (offering them food, holding her sippy cup up to their mouths and giving them lots of hugs and kisses). So we suspect that she’ll be quite a little helper with Emily as well.

Emily continues to be as active as ever – day & night! She seems eager to get out of the confines of my belly and it’s not unusual to actually see her turn completely around to reposition in there! At night when I’m trying to sleep, her hiccups must keep us both awake as they can be quite pronounced and persistent at times!

So far, so good and everything is right on track and she seems to be growing and developing right on schedule! Let the countdown begin … and wish us luck on that “to-do” list

After the morning festivities and a rejuvenating nap, Anabelle put on one of her new dresses (there were numerous wardrobe changes that day as she had so many cute, new dresses to wear!). She opted to accessorize with her new ladybug boots (a gift from the Easter Bunny, of course) and we thought the style was actually quite trendy! We then headed over to a friends house for a scrumptious Easter lunch and Anabelle’s first egg hunt! She was the youngest kid there … but that didn’t stop her from finding quite a few eggs! Her “special” egg landed her yet another special gift … a stuffed bunny (whom she immediately hugged and kissed!).

In addition to an egg hunt, swimming, rocking on the front porch and socializing with good friends … Daddy also got to practice his marksmanship. Anabelle thought it was really funny to see Daddy shoot a bow and arrow at the fake deer and duck targets. Every once in awhile, she would exclaim, “Oh, oh” … but otherwise, it was all fun and games.

It was a happy Easter had by all! And thanks to everyone who helped to make it such a special day for Miss Anabelle!!
