Daddy’s Home!!

Mark got home on Wednesday and we couldn’t be happier to have our family back together. Anabelle, Granny Carol and I all went to the airport to welcome Mark back home. We put up “welcome home” signs and banners at home, the dogs wore patriotic bandanas and Anabelle got a new dress for the occasion. Anabelle’s initial reaction was as we’d expected … she was a bit scared and unsure of what exactly was going on. But after only 3 days … she has warmed up to Mark tremendously and all is well. We all went out for lunch after leaving the airport on Wednesday and then, of course, we had to make a stop at Publix to stock up on some much awaited for beer! Mark was a little overwhelmed by the selection as can be seen in the picture :) He also went a little fresh fruit crazy and we now have more fresh fruit in the house than we know what to do with (as seen by Anabelle’s watermelon face)! But after going 6 months without beer and fresh fruit … who am I to argue?!?! Over the last few days, we’ve been spending some quality family time together, going out for lunches, taking Anabelle and the dogs for walks and catching up with friends. It won’t be long before we all have to get back into the old routine, but for the time being, we’re using Mark’s homecoming as an excuse for a little vacation from “real” life. Welcome home Daddy!! We missed you and we’re so glad that you’re home!
